• It is a requirement of most UK insurers that 5 lever British Standard Mortice are fitted to all front rear and side doors.
• In the majority of burglaries the perpetrators gain entry through the rear of the house, make sure you have additional bolts fitted to your rear doors.
• Fit window locks to all accessible windows.
• Replace old and broken locks before it is too late.
• Fit a safe, it is the best way to guard your small but valuable items and your personal ID such as passports etc.
• Fit security lights.
• If you move into a new home or office always change the locks. You don't know who has keys to your property.
• Keep keys out of sight and out of range of your letterbox and a long stick.
• Fit a burglar alarm.
• Make sure sheds and garages are secure. Thieves will use your own tools to break into your house or office.
• Don't leave ladders lying around, again these will be used to break into your property.
• Fit solid hardwood doors.
• Fit a door viewer so you can see who is outside.
